Community Learning 

Community Learning Center (CLC) is a community based service oriented project established by the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB). Since 1997, ISB-CLC had offered number of computer and technical courses to the community. 

Most Continuing Education courses are non-credit. Continuing Education classes are often documented by a nationally recognized measure called CEU's (Continuing Education Units). CEU's are nationally recognized measures of non-credit learning. CEU's are awarded for certain classes offered at ISB-CLC. Many employers use CEU's in promotion decisions. Professional organizations often require specific numbers of CEU's for membership or continued certification. Licensing authorities, such as the Real Estate Commission, also maintain CEU requirements. Many adults and seniors attend ISB-CLC for skill upgrades, particularly in technical areas. Others are looking for affordable ways to gain new carrier skills in today's competitive marketplace.

There is a desperate need to create appropriate classrooms, laboratories facilities to effectively offer these courses. The proposed ISB-CLC will provide adequate training environment and desired computer based network structure for the benefit of the community.
